MARCUS GALIC

Marcus Galic, a versatile and dynamic artist, excels in both music composing and acting. From a young age, he has been captivated by instrumental music, particularly film, TV, and game soundtracks. His passion lies in the power of storytelling through music. Notable works include the short honors film “One Minute in Hell,” directed by Sam Lee, and his first feature film score for “Assault on Sacred Mountain.” Marcus’s style is characterised by a fearless blend of genres, using leitmotifs and recurring themes to create cohesive and emotionally impactful scores. As a music producer, he often collaborates with partner Stephanie Angelini, producing singles such as "Sublime" and "Hysteria", as well as their joint indie-pop project "Amber Hour".

 

In addition to composing, Marcus brings his behind-the-scenes expertise to the screen as an actor. Early in his acting career, he has already taken on memorable roles in indie and student films, such as a  comedic murderer, a manipulative genie, and a boyfriend possessed by a demon. He draws upon Stanislavsky techniques and the Stella Adler method, using imagination and preparation to craft his characters’ histories and connect to their stories.

 

Balancing his time between music and acting can be challenging, but Marcus finds that these fields complement each other. Acting involves rhythm and timing, much like music, and both are rich with emotion, often with subtle layers beneath the surface. Acting in projects he has scored helps him understand the emotional beats, character objectives, and relationships, informing how the music should enhance the scene.

 

Marcus’s goal is to be known not just as a composer or an actor but as both. Significant milestones in his career include scoring his first feature film and signing with his agent, Jackie Olivier. He is always on the lookout for new and exciting opportunities in both fields, dedicated to excelling and making a mark as a multifaceted artist.
